Profile

The bridge between terrain and system.

I translate between two worlds that rarely speak the same language — the terrain outside and the systems that have to hold up in it.

About

Markus Schubert climbing in alpine terrain.

Markus Schubert — Mountain Guide (IFMGA), based in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. For years out in real extreme conditions, from the high mountains to the polar regions.

I don't build AI, but I work with it in its different forms — horizontal and vertical models, in the cloud or locally. What occupies me: whether the reality outside actually reaches the machine — and whether the system withstands what the data sheet doesn't know.

AI, for me, is both: an everyday tool and a subject I observe closely. I work with it continuously — in preparation and analysis, in handling snow, weather and terrain data — and I pay attention to what the tools can really do outside. That is also how the focus areas further down are meant.
